Hi Group!

Have a Powerdynamo freshly installed and tested in my R69 engine. I could use a little advice on mounting, wiring, and anything else you care to offer.

Mounting: I lack Joel's regulator mounting plate - does anyone have a template for this aluminium piece? Or, have you found a better way to keep this out of the engine heat?

Wiring: Easier / cleaner to run the Kill and Charging wires from the PDynamo harness to the existing bike's harness (Kill @ coil; Terminal 61), or did you simply route these two wires directly into the shell?

Thank you for any help you can provide!
John

I did not do the installation

I did not do the installation on my 1969 but my understanding is that all the mounting plates come with the kit.
If not hopefully these pictures can be of some help.

I ran the 2 wires to the

I ran the 2 wires to the shell. But had the tank mounted already. I also lost my ground in the head light for some reason. So check as much as you can before mounting the gas tank. Just use some aluminium, drill some holes and mount to frame under tank.
Also check your little dip switches on the black box. Mine were all on when they were all suppose to be off.(?) I had to remove the tank again cause I didnt check the switches to see what position they were in. I couldnt get the RPM I needed to see the timing marks when using my timing light.

Really appreciate the help!

Thanks for the helpful replies! In turn, I will create a template that follows Scottie Sharpe's "full triangle" mounting plate and post that here. Scottie's method puts the regulator in front and above the engine, just behind the frame's down tube.
