Hello all,

I was putting the driveshaft nut on the r27 yesterday. This is the castellated nut that holds the long driveshaft on the final drive. I was following the barrington book and found it just says "tighten the nut" but does not give a torque for it. There is rubber both sides of the joint so I figure it's not too tight but wanted to know if there was a specific torque for this nut.

Castle nut

Being a castellated nut, all you do is "snug" it up tight with your fingers then turn it one or two serrations tighter to match up the holes and install the cotter pin. No torque setting. And don't muscle it either.
