I have only had my 92 R100RT less than a year. It had some vibration but seems to have gotten worser. I was doing some simple checks. And found the rubber (hose) between the head and carb had a tear. So got my timing light out put it on the left plug wire, not firing at all at idle.
Fires a little more 2000 rpm. 3000 rpm fire once every 2-3 seconds. The right side is great, fires like your looking at a flash lite.
Im doing some research now but thought I would ask. Plug wire or ?

Thanks

Are you saying that the

Are you saying that the engine is vibrating so much because of this infrequent firing? Or are you saying that you're not seeing the timing light is not lighting up regularly? I wouldn't believe the timing light...only if the engine is really shaking as a result of misfires.

Start swapping the easy things...plugs, spark plug caps side to side, change where the wires plug into the coils. See if one of those changes makes the problem switch sides.

OK Kurt, I may have to

OK Kurt, I may have to retire my 25 yr old timing light. I bought another inductive pick up timing light. Now everything is working like it should. Funny it lights the light on the right side but wont light the light on the left side with my 25 yr old timing lite.

thanks for the help.
