I am looking for a few brass parts for a 1950 BMW, I know this forum covers antique bikes until 1945. I just haven't had been able to locate these parts and am reaching out to see if someone in this forum might have these or can lead me in a new direction.
I'm looking for a brass threaded locking piece for the toolbox lid. It's the small lug that threads through the cover. They're available in stainless but can't find it in brass. I'm also looking for four brass screws that attach the gas tank emblems to the tank.
Thanks, Michael

Are you certain you want

Are you certain you want plain brass items? I think these were all originally chromed brass, but the chrome has a tendency to come off after a long time.

Thanks for the reply Darryl,

Thanks for the reply Darryl, Yes I would prefer the brass. My brother has a similar model and his is brass. It doesn't appear to have been chromed before. Thanks, Michael

Try Stemler's in Germany,

Try Stemler's in Germany, which is where I bought the same bits for my R25/3 and R27.

It takes quite a while for emails to be read so a 'phone call is quicker.

Darryl is being diplomatic

These parts weren't plain brass as a finish. They were all plated. The special fastener for the tool box was cad, its just gets worn off. And the badge screws were likely nickel or some similar, shinier finish that cad.
