Does anyone recognise this R90/6 imported from the USA to England . Licence plate mm54 -030 last licenced in 1997. My brother has bought the bike and would like to know its history or any work done by a previous owner.

Not quite "Does anyone

Not quite "Does anyone recognize this black Model T?", Tony, but close. More pictures might help, or not. What's the apparently peeling black slag that's festooning the engine case, air tube, and left jug? The bodywork paint otherwise looks pretty good in this one pic. Your brother should probably assume that the history of an imported bike that's been idled for the past 20 years doesn't matter much, and he should plan to do a complete baseline maintenance, being prepared for some nasty surprises, and being happy if he doesn't encounter one at every step of disassembly/inspection.

That black slag is someone's

That black slag is someone's idea of a cool looking motorcycle - not mine though. It has been painted but I cant imagine why you would do that to such a bike. The bike has been stood for many years, do you have any other ideas as to how to trace the history? Regards Tony

I was thinking "he needs

I was thinking "he needs CarFax for a motorcycle". I didn't think there was such a thing, but then I googled "CarFax for motorcycles" and found this: CycleVin . I've never tried it, and there may be other search services that are better, but I guess it's a start. More frequent used bike buyers than I are out there, and undoubtedly know more about this than I. Happy hunting.

Usually, people try and work

Usually, people try and work backwards from the bike's title. Find a name, make contact, find another name, repeat.
