Hello all,
I am new to this forum. Been lurking for a while and it seems like a great community of people here, with a broad knowledge base for these old bikes.
I have been collecting and restoring motorcycles for quite a while now and have a pretty diverse collection ranging from 50s, 60s, and 70s Italian bikes. Some 70s Brit iron and the obligatory Japanese bikes for when I don't want to worry about breaking down. I have had a couple of airheads in the past, having restored a 72 R60/5 in curry, and a very nice R90/6 I purchased from the original owner. Life happened and I moved those bikes on to make way for children, and houses. I am now back in the market to find another.
I don't see a classified section on this forum, and I don't even know if it is allowed to put a "want ad" out on this site, but I figured I'd try. I'd prefer this method over Craigslist and eBay because of the enthusiasts that are here. We all know the guy on CL who's out to flip a bike by hosing it down with Armor All and calling it restored. And, I was burned pretty badly buy a guy on eBay with a vintage Moto Guzzi last year. Required a complete tear down and rebuild. I am perfectly capable, but the bike just was not even close to what was advertised. No PPI, mea culpa.
So...if there are any good folks out there who may be thinking of selling their R60 or 75/5, I may be interested. Toaster tank is preferred, but not a deal breaker if not. I'd like clean title/transferable paper work. Complete and running is certainly a plus, but a good solid platform for restoration would be considered as well. I live in California, so there's that as well. It'd be nice to see before I buy and shake the hand of the person I am dealing with. Thanks in advance. If any of you are so inclined, maybe a trade could be arranged? PM for any leads or details.

Best,
JD

JD -Welcome! You didn't

JD -

Welcome! You didn't mention IBMWR classifieds. There have been some scams as reported in other threads on this list, but you might check there.

Kurt, Thanks! I've been on

Kurt,
Thanks! I've been on the other site. I used to be a member there. I have not seen, first hand, the scams on that site, but have certainly seen enough of them being involved in this hobby. I'll keep an eye out over there and maybe consult some of the folks here and and on IBMW for fact checking.

Best,

JD
