Hi guys,

Recently I bought an oldtimer, which seems to be a mixup of different motorcycles, mostly soviet.
However there might be some parts from R71 I believe.
There are no frame numbers on the frame, but are there any other part numbers on other details to finally identify the frame?

Neat! That tank looks an awful lot like the tank on my 1951 R67 aside from the filler neck, as does the frame, forks, handlebars, headlight bucket etc. The frame number should be located on the bend in front of the left rear shock tower. Can't get a good look at the motor but it sure looks older than 51. Hope to hear more on your progress. Congrats on the find!

Chris

I think...

...that's a pre war BMW frame from R51-R66-R71 era, modified to take an R75WH motor, and then later again modified to take a russian drive train, final drive, wheels which it retains at present...the front end is russian, am not sure about controls or headlamp, suspect the rear fender is BMW, and that the tank is the really valuable part here: it's from an R5-R6 or early R51. I think the SC is russian but can't be sure. I guess this motorcycle is now someplace in eastern europe or Russia? Too bad the bike can't talk; it would have some interesting stories to tell!
