Does anyone have a source for the seal that fills the gap between the magneto and the engine case? Thank you!

Exactly which part?

Scottie, are you talking about the round cork gasket that goes between the metal disk and the crankcase casting, or the felt seal that fits into the metal disk and seals around the magneto armature shaft?

If the former, they usually come in motor gasket sets, and I have a couple laying around. If the latter, I don't recall seeing them for sale, but would expect that it could be made from some felt.

Let me know if you want one of the cork gaskets.

Thanks

Thanks for the part offer.

I am missing the metal disc and all the seals. All I have is a 7-8mm gap between the magneto and engine case.

I see Oldtimer Garage has this one in their catalog.

I wonder if that is the part I need.

That is the part, also (if you don't have already) you will need the 40mm dia spring to push it against the casing.
One of mine has been adapted to take a modern oil seal in place of the felt seal, leaks less than the felt one.

As Ian says, that's the part

As Ian says, that's the part and you need a light spring between it and the mag case. Mine have a felt seal around the shaft and I've never had it leak there. OTOH, I've taken to gooping up the cork gasket pretty good on both sides to keep it from leaking/weeping there.
