Can anyone tell me the story of these bags? I suspect they're period original BMW, made for the /5.

According to Duane, he says they're unknown. But these style of bags have come up before and the consensus is that they're Enduros. However, they look different than other style Enduros, so I'd say the jury is still out.

Thanks, Kurt. I suspect

Thanks, Kurt. I suspect they're an 'after-design' from the /2 bags, or 'Enduros', and not made for long, perhaps up until Krauser came in with their more practical bags, or suite cases...but I dunno'. I'd really like to know the whole story ;-/

Just wandering through the

Just wandering through the forums and came on this post. I have the EXACT same bags. Came with my 1971 R60 slash 5.

They have lower mounts that actually clamp onto the mufflers. Look like freehand pinstripes. Did you find out any more about them. Even though they don't lock and probably leak - I kind of like the way they look on my bike. I don't ride in the rain (on purpose), anyway.
