I am new to the forum and am currently restoring a R50. I have stripped the frame in readiness for shot blasting and have noticed a difference between the left and right hand rear shocker turrets - can anyone advice if this is how they are suppose to be?.

Welcome to the forum! I'll speak for myself, but I'm not sure I know what you mean by turret. Can you post some pictures so we can see what you're looking at?

The shock tubes on the frame

The shock tubes on the frame are mirror image.
And without a picture your question is hypothetical at best..

So are these the turrets

So are these the turrets you're referring to? The distance between centers on my R69S are just around 18.5 cm. On my R25/2 the distance is about 22.5 cm.

As I said, I measured the distances on my two bikes...nothing close to your 26.4 cm. I would think that my R69S would be similar to an early R50. But who knows...
