Hello,

there is a BMW R35 on e-bay with all 3 matching numbers. I was told and experienced before that in those days BMW did not make matching numbers bikes and the frame had different numbers than the motor. Is it correct??

Not exactly sure, but I think

Not exactly sure, but I think pre-war bikes won't (or shouldn't) have matching numbers.

The specs listed under BMW Models on the left side of the screen:

http://vintagebmw.org/v7/model/r35

indicates that the engine and frame numbers don't cover the same range, an indication there is some mismatching along the way.

I hope the potential buyer won't be disappointed about the ""TRUE" BMW R35 built before the war"....

I know I'm coming into this a bit late, and that the bike has already been sold, but the number stamp and alleged Waffenamt stamp shown are incredibly badly done. The number stamps dance around and aren't evenly spaced, and the BMW roundels are stamped at an angle. The right one is stamped twice at two different angles, as if the forger didn't like the angle the first time. The Waffenamt stamp is totally ridiculously amateurish looking, not at all like the real thing, which appears like it was crafted by a jeweler.
