I'm not sure I understand the specifics. When the clutch hand lever is pulled, trying to move the foot lever up does not get to the next gear? Does it grind? Is there resistance on the hand lever? "Mechanics shift"...is that the lever on the right side of the gear box? I have one on my R25/2 but have never used it...not sure how to...I presume it would be the same as the left-side foot lever.

Was smoothest shifting

Was smoothest shifting plunger I've ever ridden!
Just stopped up shifting with foot control (yes levers tight-spindle moves)
Still shifts buttery smooth with mechanics shift.
Thanks

I can only guess then that if the hand lever allows for clutch disengagement and the right-side lever lets you select gears, then something must have broken with the left-side lever. Maybe drain the transmission and see if there are any large parts/chunks that come out.

Inspection cover...

If the mechanics shifter is working fine, then the problem should be in the changing mechanism. That mechanism can be inspected, by removing the shifter lever, and 4 bolts holding the small cover on the LH side. The spring may have brokne, which will be evident when you get the cover off.

Let us know what you find.

Paul

Small spring in shift

Small spring in shift mechanism was bent-installed new. Shifts nicely.
