Starting to rebuild a R69S engine that came in parts. After installing the rear slinger on the crank ,I placed the marked shim (.078'') on and then pressed on the rear bearing. Testing the clearance for the flywheel I find that instead of the minimum gap of .065 I have .057. Christopher Batjemann has found that anything under .065 will impede on a proper seat of the flywheel. Can anyone tell me if the shim is the correct size (.078) In my parts book the shim # 11 21 0016212 is used on only R50 models . So I don't have a part number and a correct thickness . Help is needed.

I put that part number into

I put that part number into RealOEM and came up with this page for the R69S:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=0233&mospid=48044&btnr=11_...

Part 05 is listed on the page as 2.00mm. That's not much help, I'm sure.

I found the answer......

I to those who looked into this post. The answer is 2.00mm. To my embarrassment it was in Betjemann's manual.
Maybe it is in an overlooked section by others but the "DATA" section in the back is great!
