The continuing success of the BMW Motorrad brand means that each year, many more new visitors arrive in the bustling town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the first weekend in July to witness around 40,000 friendly motorcyclists from every country imaginable besieging this well-to-do Alpine sports resort. Last year was the biggest and best yet, with a great mix of product highlights, tours, shows, exhibitors, fantastic food and drink, and a packed events, activities and party programme.

To the uninitiated, BMW Motorrad Days is a free festival, organised by BMW Motorrad, just as a way to say “thanks” for being part of the worldwide community that make the brand what it is.

Our advice is to start planning now, from what route you will take, to whom you will travel with, and where you will stay upon arrival. Many options are available, from organised group rides via dealers to club runs to individual tours. As for accommodation, there is a massive choice available in the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and surrounding villages – but only if you book early enough. Every year it’s the same story: all the rooms get sold out and some visitors are left with long journeys to and from the event each day. So remember, it’s first come, first served so reserve your rooms early (please send your requests to bmw-motorrad@gapa.de) – or simply pack your camping gear and enjoy our great on-site facilities.

Exceptional roads and extreme fall colors meet in the Natural State, one of America’s best spots for riding and enjoying outdoor life. If you’ve ridden Route 1 north of San Francisco, the Four Corners, the Rockies and the Tail of the Dragon, but not Route 123 North in Newton County, AR then you don’t know what you are missing. And it’s not just the roads. The locals and the local constabulary are equally friendly. The food is awesome, the music is outstanding, and best of all… there’s no damned traffic. Join your BMW comrades and invite all your rider/friends from other marques. Let’s have fun in AR.

The rally site is Woodland Park, Harrison, AR. There are hotels nearby and the park has excellent space for tent camping and RVs. Check this page for details on the rally - http://bmwra.org/news/national-rally.

Billed as Europe's largest vintage vehicle market and technical show, the first one was in 1975. Due to the popularity of the event, there are two Veterama events - now March and October. These events have saved countless vintage and antique vehicles from being lost; the availability of parts and knowledge breathes new life into many historical vehicles.

Hours are 8:30a-6:00p on Saturday and 8:30a-4:00p on Sunday. Tickets start at 12 euros per day with reduced rates for multiple days. Parking is available. Insider tickets can be purchased to allow access on Friday from 12:00p-8:00p.

More information can be found at http://www.veterama.de/en/home regarding visitors, exhibiting, and other links and things to do in the local area. Links to pictures for past events can also be seen at the above website.
